The Dec. 2 performance of “Thoughts of a Colored Man” will be filmed by the New York Public Library’s Theatre on Film and Tape Archive, the production announced Wednesday.
The play, written by Keenan Scott II and directed by Steve H. Broadnax III, opened at the Golden Theatre on Oct. 13. It is the first Broadway show to be written, directed by, starring and lead produced by Black men, according to the production.
“Living on at Lincoln Center is an achievement for us and for new generations of creatives and artists,” said producer Brian Moreland. “It is a historic honor we will all treasure.”
The play is scheduled to run at the Golden Theatre through March 20, 2022.
